Introduction

Roswell Rifle Works is proud to introduce the first U.S.-made SR-3M, engineered to mirror the original Russian platform while meeting modern manufacturing standards.

The SR-3M is one of the last evolutions of the 9x39 family of weapons. The rifle has been fully recreated using precision U.S. machining, modern materials, and extensive ballistic testing, while remaining faithful to the original Russian design.

“We've completed the first full U.S. builds and we're now in the refinement phase. We found additional ways to simplify and strengthen the design for long-term production, while staying true to the original design. Instead of rushing extensive live fire testing, we chose to optimize our design for future scalability. That's exactly where you want a serious program to be.”

Authenticity

Roswell Rifle Works' SR-3M US is built to a 95% dimensional match to the original Russian SR-3M.

Key architecture — including the receiver, gas system, bolt carrier group, folding stock, trigger pack layout, and locking surfaces — all stay true to the original design.

Only Four Intentional Changes

1. Semi-auto fire-control configuration (U.S. legal compliance)
2. Replacement of the original Russian 3-lug suppressor mount with a modern 14×1 LH threaded barrel
3. Addition of MLOK sections to the handguard for modern attachments
4. Removal of the vertical grip for non-NFA versions of the weapon and creation of a lower handguard to replace the integral front-mounted vertical grip

Manufacturing Origin

Every component of the SR-3M US is 100% U.S.-made.

No foreign parts are used in the receiver, bolt carrier group, barrel, stock system, springs, or internal components.

Key components — such as the bolt, carrier, and receiver — require high-end multi-axis machining systems that exceed the capabilities of most commercial shops. This level of manufacturing complexity, combined with the fact that no blueprints for this firearm were available, has historically prevented any U.S. company from attempting a true SR-3M build.

Why This Rifle Is Unique

The SR-3M was never exported, never licensed, and no parts kits have ever existed.

Prior U.S. attempts focused only on cosmetic VSS-inspired designs. Roswell Rifle Works undertook a complete reconstruction of the platform from incomplete and often contradictory diagrams, validated every tolerance, and built the first authentic, functional SR-3M US ever produced in the United States.

Ammunition: 9×39 US

The SR-3M US is chambered in 9×39 US. The 9×39 US is a caliber specification engineered by Roswell Manufacturing.

They created the 9×39 US standard because “9×39” was never actually standardized in the U.S. Different ammo, barrels, and tooling were built to conflicting specs, creating safety and reliability problems. 9×39 US is a pressure-tested, dimensionally consistent baseline designed specifically for the U.S. market, modern manufacturing, and suppressed use.

Magazine Compatibility

The SR-3M US accepts:

• Original Russian SR-3M / VSS / AS-VAL magazines
• Domestically designed and produced magazines by Roswell Rifle Works, built to match the original VSS magazine design

No proprietary or redesigned magazine geometry was introduced.

Suppressor System

The original Russian 3-lug/tri-lug suppressor mount was incompatible with modern U.S. suppressor standards.

Roswell Rifle Works decided to thread the barrel 14×1 LH, allowing the end user to use a muzzle device or suppressor of their choosing. This allows for the use of more efficient suppressors.
